We beleive that education is a partnership between home, school and the community. The links with parents/carers are very important.

During the school year there will be three formal occasions when parents/carers can come into school and discuss their child's work with staff. These will occur each term.

Our “Weekly Newsletter” and “Parentmail” service keeps families informed and up to date with the latest opportunities to get involved in a variety of school activities.

We also offer regular opportunities for parents/carers to develop their understanding of subject areas through “Information Evenings” and to share any thoughts and feelings with the governing body.

We have an “Open-door” policy which allows any parent/carer the opportunity to discuss any concerns for their child at the beginning and end of the school day. However, if for any other reason there are any concerns that occur please contact the school and arrange for an appointment to speak to the teacher.

If any parents do have some spare time to offer then we would be delighted to receive some help in school. We often require the assistance of adults helpers for activities such as school trips and visits, helping in the library, hearing readers on a regular basis or helping out with clubs.

The “Friends of St. Nicholas School” are also keen and willing to receive any assistance with events and fundraising. If you think you can offer help then please contact the Headteacher for further information.
